POSITION VACANCY NOTICE
Title I Teacher
Date: April 18, 2024
Reports To: Elementary Principal
Summary: This position will start in the 2024-25 school year. Provides small group and individual instruction in the areas of reading and math. Collects and analyzes benchmark and progress monitoring data in order to monitor and modify student interventions.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with K-5 Elementary Education
- Highly qualified to teach K-5 as per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements
- Preferred specialization in the area of reading and language arts
- Preferred experience teaching elementary ELA curriculum
- Use of data system to analyze student progress
- Background check including fingerprinting required
Essential Responsibilities:
The Title I Teacher is responsible for planning and providing instruction to elementary students in the areas of reading and math.
- Administer benchmark and progress monitoring assessments.
- Collect, analyze, and enter student data into a data tracking system.
- Participate in student data meetings.
- Plan and provide instruction to small groups and individual students.
- Document interventions.
- Write, monitor, and adjust Individual Reading Intervention Plans (IRIPs) based on student data.
- Other duties as assigned by building principal.
