The Escanaba Area Public School District seeks a qualified candidate for the following position:

Athletic Director

Location: District/EJHS/EHS

Start Date: July 01, 2026

Reports to: Superintendent, Principal

Salary: Per administrator salary schedule if holding administrative certification

Deadline: June 21, 2026

Qualifications

• Successful teaching experience in a public school district preferred
• Successful head coaching experience, preferably at the varsity level
• Administrative certification preferred, or willingness to obtain administrative certification within two years of accepting the position

Job Description

• Coordinate athletics in grades 7-12
• Schedule athletic events
• Coordinate and schedule athletic facility usage
• Coordinate and scheduling athletic transportation and accommodations
• Recruit and recommend coaches for hire
• Evaluate coaches
• Supervise and manage athletic budgets using district software
• Maintain good relations with booster and fan clubs
• Handle parent athletic concerns and rule violations
• Develop, recommend, and enforce applicable policy
• Secure officials for athletic events
• Supervise athletic events
• Supervise other events under the direction of the school principal
• Coordinate administrative coverage at events when necessary
• Assist with other administrative tasks within the District when needed
• Other duties as assigned
